TITLE: Research
Assistant I
DIVISION: Academic
Affairs (Cancer Prevention Research Center)
REPORTS TO: Principal Investigator and/or Research
Associate
GRADE: 1
SUPERVISES: Student telephone interviewers
BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist with the day-to-day
duties involved in the operation of a telephone survey research center.
Conduct telephone interviews using a computer-assisted telephone interviewing
system.
Participate in subject tracking, periodic sample monitoring and reporting.
Implement and revise survey research protocols, and coordinate sample management tasks between the mail and telephone survey centers.
Train and supervise telephone interviewers conducting scientific surveys.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform tasks
related to maintaining quality of records and data.
LICENSES, TOOLS AND
EQUIPMENT:
Knowledge of and
experience in operation of Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI)
systems; knowledge of personal computer systems, word processing and
spreadsheet software; work evenings and weekends as required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental
conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in
social science or related discipline with up to one-year experience in an
administrative and/or research environment; possess strong organizational and
interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally
and in writing; commitment to diversity. Preferred: PC and CATI
experience; survey research, telephone interviewing and supervision experience.
