Title of Position: Assistant Professor, Earth Systems Science Position Number: 106352

The University of Rhode Island anticipates a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2009, in Earth Systems Science.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Develop inquiry-based methods for teaching STEM curricula to inservice K-12 teachers and undergraduates. Teach earth science undergraduate courses in area of expertise, contribute to science education methods courses, and engage in original research.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. in Earth Systems Sciences or equivalent and demonstration of a research program in some aspect of earth systems science are required. Post-doctoral experience and potential for developing Earth Systems Science education programs preferred.
