Position Description

TITLE: Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball (3 Positions)

DIVISION: Student Development (Athletics)

REPORTS TO: Coach, Women's Basketball

GRADE: (Not applicable)

SUPERVISES: (Not applicable)

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assist in the organization and administration of the basketball program, including the following: recruiting, scouting, practice and game coaching, conditioning and strength training, public relations, and academic development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist head coach with the recruiting of Division I athletes.

Assist head coach with practice and game coaching and the evaluation of player performance.

Assist head coach in scouting opponents and in preparation of game plans.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comply with all NCAA, University and Atlantic 10 Conference policies and regulations.

Perform other duties as required.

LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers and Microsoft Office products.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required. Coaching experience (preferably Division I) and/or collegiate playing experience (preferably Division I) required. Recruiting experience preferred. Must have demonstrated effective organizational, communicative and leadership skills; ability to work with diverse groups. Appointment subject to NCAA and Conference violation report clearance and NCAA Rules Certificate.
