Position Description
TITLE: Assistant Coach, Women's Rowing
DIVISION: Student Development - (Athletics)
REPORTS TO: Head Coach, Women's Rowing
GRADE: Not Applicable
SUPERVISES: Support staff
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the on-campus recruiting of
student-athletes and the implementation of training programs for the Novice
Program. Contribute to the overall
administration of the Women's Rowing Program, including assisting with off-campus
recruiting, team travel, and equipment maintenance, fundraising, and daily
operations. Work with a team of coaches and foster a positive competitive
environment for student-athletes. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head
Rowing Coach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit on-campus student-athletes for the Novice Program.
Implement training programs for the Novice Programs.
Assist in the off-campus recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Assist in equipment maintenance, team travel arrangements, and fundraising projects.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
Upon appointment, must obtain NCAA rules certification certificate; CPR and first aid certificates.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
This position is subject to both inside and outside work;
adverse weather conditions/temperatures can be encountered.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree; competitive collegiate rowing experience and/or coaching experience in women's rowing; strong communication skills, and ability to work with diverse population; demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules with a commitment to adhering to all NCAA, Conference, and Institutional policies, rules, and regulations. Appointment subject to NCAA violation report clearance.
