BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible
for developing, planning, and conducting continuing education for health
professionals and for support to all
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain
present continuing education programs in
Responsible for activities of students, program
budgets, and associated program activities.
Develop
new continuing education offerings including, but not limited to, certificate
programs for practitioners.
Develop
a continuing interaction with the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory agencies,
and regional pharmacy organizations in order to better fund and conduct quality
continuing education programs for the profession.
Meet
or exceed all American Council for Pharmaceutical Education guidelines for
program quality.
Explore
further contracting out of continuing education programs.
OTHER DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act
as liaison between the Dean and all pharmacy and regulatory organizations for
educational programs.
Continually
develop and expand ongoing and new continuing education programs.
LICENSES, TOOLS AND
EQUIPMENT:
Certified as a registered pharmacist in the
State of
ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS:
This
position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An
entry level pharmacy degree and a master's degree (preferably MBA) or
substantial pharmacy practice experience required. Must have experience in the service facets of
pharmacy practice. The following are also required: experience
in developing continuing education programs or externship relationship and
contracts; knowledge of several state laws relative to pharmacy and hospital
practice.
