Middle Grades Extended Certification

Overview:

The School of Education's middle grades extended certification program is well-grounded both in current research on middle level education and in best practice in the professional preparation of pre-service and in-service teachers.  The program is based upon the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) standards.

The middle grades extended certification is valid for service in grades 5-8 in the content areas of mathematics, English, science, or social studies.

Secondary students interested in a middle grades certification extension should consult with their primary advisors:
