Students are admitted to the M.A. program and take professional coursework leading to an initial teaching certificate. Some certification coursework can be taken at either the undergraduate or graduate level; at least 15 credits for the M.A. must be taken at the 500 or 600 level, with the remainder at the 400 level. Some 400 level certification courses may not be counted towards the M.A.
