Master's of Arts in Education

Students in the M.A. program declare an area of specialization from the list below. A specialization may also be designed in accordance with the student’s background and Two students working togetherinterests.

Specialization Areas

Each specialization area has defined a course in which each student must produce a "substantial paper involving significant independent study." 

A written comprehensive exam near the end of the coursework is required for those students not completing a thesis. 

Program Requirements

  • 30 credits minimum
  • a required common core of 6 credits (Foundations, Research)
  • electives
  • an academic specialization (18 - 24 credits)
