Outcomes:  

Teacher preparation programs will work with districts and sample high need schools to establish a systematic induction program for beginning teachers to improve teacher quality and increase retention.  The combination of improved partnerships, school-based induction programs, and professional development in support of I-Plans will be used to develop a comprehensive school support system.

Measure:  

Survey and interviews of beginning teachers and mentors.  Percentage of beginning teachers in participating schools who continue in the profession.  Percentage of beginning teachers who are “highly qualified.”
