Teaching interests:
Child development, specifically the development and care of preschool
and early school-age children; early childhood education, specifically
group programs for young children and the assessment of young children
and the programs that serve young children and families.
Research interests:
Evaluation of training for early childhood educators; assessment of
young children; group programs for young children, especially Head
Start and other early intervention programs.
Other scholarly and/or creative work:
Completed a year as a Visiting Scholar at the National Institute on
Early Childhood Development and Education at the Office of Educational
Research and Improvement at the U.S. Department of Education, 1998-99
Co-organizer and Co-director of the Rhode Island Early Childhood
Summer Institutes, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001.
