Kindness, gentleness, patience, and sensitivity to people receiving treatment for emotional illness or considered at risk are required.

RI Association for the Education of Young Children (RIAEYC)

RIAEYC Internship Program, Fall 2009
The intern will assist RIAEYC in its mission to support professionals in their work by promoting quality education and the healthy development of children birth through eight. In doing so, the intern will assist on a wide range of projects, including the RIAEYC Early Childhood Conference, the Fall Membership Event, BrightStars, as well as aid in day-to-day operations and logistics.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Conference Committee in the planning and logistics of the RIAEYC Early Childhood Conference, including developing materials, recruiting vendors, registration, site logistics, and other tasks.
  • Assist the Membership Committee in the planning and logistics of the Fall Membership event.
  • Assist with the BrightStars project, including program recruitment and materials management.

Internship Requirements:

  • Follow RIAEYC guidelines and expectations
  • Act in a professional manner
  • Complete work in a timely and accurate manner: on-site or work from home/school
  • Contribute creative ideas and insights
  • Attend monthly committee meetings
  • Complete academic project and career services paperwork (as required)
  • Gain as much as possible out of the experience (new skills, career ideas, contacts)

Qualifications:
RIAEYC seeks individuals with a strong commitment to helping to promote high quality early childhood education and care. Intern must be detail-oriented with the ability to work on several tasks concurrently. Ideal candidates should possess strong communications and written skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
