Student Learning Outcomes

All Health Studies majors, regardless of specialization will:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to think critically and synthesize scientific information

  2. Demonstrate clear written and oral communication skills

  3. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to solve the health issues of today and the future

  4. Use information technology responsibly and efficiently for academic and professional purposes

  5. Integrate knowledge from health sciences, global reach, and interdisciplinarity as they impact health and the health care system and develop strategies needed in professional practice

Health Studies is an institution member of the Roide Island Public Health Association (RI PHA), which allows Health Studies majors to become student members for $10/year.

RIPHA is a professional organization that works toward the advancement of public health. The vision of RIPHA is a safe and healthier Rhode Island and the mission of RIPHA is to influence public health policy and promote public health practice in Rhode Island. RIPHA brings together professionals in a unique, multi-disciplinary environment for idea exchange, study, and action
