Each student in this major must develop and implement a plan for significant learning and accomplishment in four important areas:

  • Information and Technology
  • Language and Culture
  • Professional Development
  • Community Service


HSS 480 Senior Seminar in Human Science and Services is a capstone seminar that requires the preparation of a portfolio that documents learning in these four areas plus achievement across the students undergraduate career.

In addition to 39 credit of general education and 21 credits of human services core courses, each student develops his/her own major of 45 credits and may choose 15 credits of electives. Within the 45 credits of the student’s major there must be between 24 and 33 credits of field experience.

Students should check with their academic advisor for a detailed description of the requirements and options. A total of 120 credits is required for graduation.
