Training in Supervision
Supervision by an appropriate, qualified supervisor is an essential component of family therapy training. URI’s MFT program plays an active role in providing supervision training to experienced clinicians in Rhode Island and the New England region. Dale Blumen M.S., one of our core training staff, teaches an AAMFT pre-approved supervision course that meets the academic requirement for the Approved Supervisor designation. Since 1996, twenty five licensed clinicians have taken the Approved Supervisor training. This class meets on a regular basis.
