A variety of scholarship opportunities are available on a competitive basis to students in the Department of Kinesiology. The University of Rhode Island Foundation administers three scholarships that are specifically available to students majoring in the Department of Kinesiology. These funds can help students majoring in their term bills and other related expenses.
Andrew Rotelli Scholarship is available for students seeking a career in Sports Physiology or Physical Therapy. Students must be graduates of Bishop Hendricken High School and have financial need. Recipients are selected by the Kinesiology Department in conjunction with the Student Financial Aid Office. Application Form
Dr. Dorothy Massey Scholarship is available for women undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Physical Education (Kinesiology) that demonstrate financial need. Recipients are selected by the Kinesiology Department in conjunction with the Student Financial Aid Office. Application Form
Dr. James Reid Scholarship is available for any graduate student currently enrolled in the master’s degree program in Kinesiology. Criteria include: high academic achievement and strong commitment to, and active involvement in your field of study. Application Form
Henry H. Mackal Scholarship: Income from endowment for a scholarship awarded annually to provide assistance to undergraduate students with financial need majoring in engineering, mathematics, natural sciences, or physical education.
Lt. Charles Yaghoobian Jr. ’65 Memorial Scholarship: Income from endowment available to a student with financial need, with first preference to residents of Blackstone Valley, RI., majoring in physical education, and second preference to residents of Blackstone Valley regardless of major.
