Students at URI experience both part time and full time clinical experiences in a variety of settings. Part time Integrated Clinical Experiences (ICE) occur during the academic semesters. Students generally complete 2 outpatient and 2 inpatient/specialty rotations for a half day a week for approximately 10 weeks. Full time clinical internships occur during the third year and consist of three 12-week rotations. Students play an active role in determining the location of their full time clinical internship sites with input from the faculty. Refer to the Clinical Education Manual for specifics on the clinical education procedures at URI.
The Physical Therapy Department at URI participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS).
