The exhibit in the Textile Gallery "At the Crossing: Midwestern Amish Crib quilts and the Intersection of Cultures."
consists of 23 quilts that are part of the Sara Miller Collection of Amish crib quilts on loan from the International Quilt Study Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sara Miller was formerly a member of the Amish community of Kalona, Iowa. She began collecting quilts that a dealer brought to her fabric store in Kalona. The collection was acquired by the International Quilt Study Center in 2000. |
