The Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design Department (TMD) offers two programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree - one in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design and the other in Textile Marketing. Students come to this department from far and near to study fashion in a university setting. Program highlights include internships, study abroad, and dual degrees with a "fashion" language (Italian or French). Students in a variety of other majors choose to minor in TMD.

TMD also offers a Master of Science degree and a post-baccalaureate Certificate in Fashion Merchandising. We have an internationally known faculty, as well as faculty with international connections ranging from England, Iceland, and Greece to China and Honduras.
A unique feature of the department is the Historic Textile and Costume Collection, one of the largest of its kind in the country. Selections from the Collection are featured in the Textile Gallery, located on the first floor of Quinn Hall.
Our graduates enjoy a wide variety of careers throughout the textile and fashion supply chain.
