TMD 402G is a seminar class offered every spring with a different topic. This semester the topic is the future of fashion. With globalization, advanced technology, and the fast paced lifestyles of the 21st century, will fashion as we know it continue? We have invited speakers from fiber, fabric, apparel, and interior furnishings companies to address this theme. Required reading for the course is Teri Agins' The End of Fashion (1999). Agins is a reporter for The Wall Street Journal.
This course is available for one credit or two credits. All students attend a lecture every week and write a summary. The two-credit option requires an in-depth research report of a related topic presented both written and oral form.
