TMD 402H - Globalization in the Textile and Apparel Complex

Course Description

This seminar will focus on some of the issues involved in globalization as it relates to the textile and apparel industry. Invited speakers will address economic trends, import/export issues, fiber marketing, sourcing, offshore manufacturing, international retailing and other relevant topics. Student presenters will research related topics not covered by the speakers. The seminar is an advanced class designed to bring together subject matter from the entire TMD curriculum.

Students registered for one credit attend guest lectures and student presentations, submitting one-page summaries the following week. Students registered for two credits complete all the requirements for one credit, plus research a specific topic to be presented in both oral and written form.
