TITLE: Educator III
DIVISION: Academic Affairs (
REPORTS TO: Director Community Planning
GRADE: 14
SUPERVISES: None
BASIC FUNCTION:
Develop, implement and evaluate educational programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement and evaluate educational programs in the areas of agricultural economics, community resource development, natural resources and agriculture (with emphasis in fruit and vegetable sciences).
Provide technical information to commercial farmers in the areas of farm management, marketing, enterprise development and agricultural production.
Deliver programming based on the needs of clientele, as part of a statewide team, within the mission of Cooperative Extension.
OTHER DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively utilize the mass media, direct contact and the involvement of lay leadership to reach the largest number of people to affect positive change.
Perform other duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS
AND EQUIPMENT:
Valid driver's license required. Personal computers, printers, word processing, data base management and spreadsheet software.
ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS:
This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions although a non-standard workweek will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in agricultural economics or related field and at least eight years’ professional experience in Cooperative Extension agricultural programming or similar organization are required. Experience in the area of farm management, marketing, enterprise development and agricultural production required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others are required. Must provide own transportation. Computer skills preferred. Public policy education experience and knowledge of water quality, land resource and community development issues preferred.
