University employees and student workers in all facets of retail
operations. Assist in the overall
day-to-day operations of retail departments. Required: Bachelor's degree with specialization in
culinary arts, hotel and restaurant management, retail management or food
science and nutrition with three or more years of demonstrated successful
experience in food service management at the supervisory level in a high-volume
setting; or, an associate’s degree in culinary arts, hotel and restaurant
management or retail management, plus five or more years of successful
experience in food service management at the supervisory level in a high-volume
setting; demonstrated experience supervising and training staff; working
knowledge of Microsoft office systems; a working knowledge of cost and

limited to 1/31/09 with extension contingent on funding. Conduct independent
research and compose formal communications in support of the Rhode Island Sea
Grant College program. Assist in developing a strategic education program for
Rhode Island Sea Grant. Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public
Relations/Communications or Science with at least one (1) year of experience in
research, outreach and/or public education endeavors required. Must be able to
work independently and have the ability to translate complex marine science,
and other related disciplines, to the general public and other lay audiences.
Must be able to organize, coordinate and supervise student staff and interns.
Must be able to give public presentations to both small and large audiences.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively
interact with Rhode Island Sea Grant staff, university personnel and other
academics from varying institutions, students of all academic levels and the
