Spanish Summer Immersion Opportunities

Our partner universities in Spain regularly offer immersion opportunities so that you can have a meaningful experience abroad, and advance your language learning and cross-cultural growth before spending the entire year abroad.

University of Cantabria (July, August)

Month-long intensive programs through which you can earn up to six credits:

University of Zaragoza, Zaragoza Campus (May, June, July)

Flexible two-week intensive programs in Spanish language & culture in which you earn three credits per two-week period: http://wzar.unizar.es/uz/difusion/zaragoza/intensivos.html

University of Zaragoza, Jaca Campus (August)

Intensive programs in Spanish language & culture in which you can go for two weeks or the entire month.  Earn three credits in the two-week session or six credits in the month-long session: http://wzar.unizar.es/uz/difusion/jaca/lengua.html

University of Zaragoza, Zaragoza Campus (September)

Intensive program in Spanish language & culture designed for students who will be spending the academic year abroad and in which you earn six credits over the course of approximately three weeks: http://wzar.unizar.es/uz/difusion/zaragoza/intensivos.html

In order to make certain that your credits transfer back to URI without any problems, you just need to meet with Dr. Echevarría to complete a Prior Approval Form listing the course or courses that you plan to take, obtain appropriate signatures (Dr. Echevarría and Assistant Dean Smith from the College of Arts and Sciences) and submit the final copy to Dr. Echevarría.
