1999 IEP Advisory Board Meeting

Next

Braunschweig, Germany June 2-3, 1999

The IEP's partnership with business and industry is guided by an annual meeting of its Advisory Board, generally at the headquarters of one of the companies closely associated with the program. This year, however, the Advisory Board was invited to have its annual meeting on the campus of its exchange partner university, the Technische Universität Braunschweig (TU-BS). During a ceremony held as part of the meeting, URI President Robert Carothers was named Honorary Senator of TU-BS, an honor held by only eight other living persons and never before granted to a non-German.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
