Christina Petersen Smith is a December 2001 University of Rhode Island graduate.  During her academic career, she completed the International Engineering Program (BA German, BS Mech. Eng.), studied one semester at the TU Braunschweig in Germany and interned with the Hilti Corporation in Liechtenstein. While on campus, Smith held leadership positions within the IEP House, the Society of Women Engineers, the Peer Ministry Program and Undergraduate Admissions.

She is currently employed by Texas Instruments as a Marketing Product Manager in the Advanced Electronic Controls Group. Also, she is involved with both the United Way campaign on site and campus recruiting.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
