James A. CramerPresident

Jim Cramer is President of World Learning, an international non-governmental organization whose mission is to foster international cooperation, peace and social justice.  He also sits as President of the School for International Training, World Learning’s college located in Brattleboro, Vermont.  Prior to World Learning he directed Business, Technology and International Programs at UC Berkeley Extension.  Cramer spent over a decade in Japan, where he directed the University of Maryland’s International Business and Management Institute.  Returning to College Park, he established Maryland’s Institute for Global Management. He also directed executive and MBA programs at the School of Business, SUNY at Albany.

Dr. Cramer holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Tennessee.  He has written and edited several books and monographs, as well as numerous scholarly articles. He has authored commentaries and opinions on business and management to The Asian Wall Street Journal, Japan Economic Journal, The International Herald Tribune, The Baltimore Sun and The Washington Post.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
