Lisa Dietrich

Lisa Dietrich, Agilent TechnologiesLisa Dietrich graduated from URI in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in German. As an IEP student, she completed internships at Hoechst-Celanese in Coventry, RI, and Brown and Sharpe in Kingston, RI, along with a 6 month intership at C. Stiefelmayer KG in Esslingen, Germany.
After graduation, Lisa returned to southern Germany, where she still lives today. She worked for Renishaw GmbH in Pliezhausen from 1991 until 1998 as a product manager for encoder products. Renishaw with headquarters located in England, manufactures measuring equipment for 3-D measuring machines and the machine tool industry. She then joined Lehmann GmbH, a small manufacturer of precision mechanical parts and air bearings located in the Black Forest, as a sales manger. In July 2000 she joined the semiconductor division of Agilent Technologies, a company formerly belonging to HP, where she is today. As a European product manager for isolation products, she is responsible for the distribution strategy and key customer interfaces.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
