The International
Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German,
French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.
IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their
engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they
then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin
America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner
universities |
Dr
Alison McKay is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mechanical
Engineering at the University of Leeds. She leads a number of
design related modules including introductory modules for
Mechanical Engineering and Product Design students, modules on
information systems for design and manufacture, and a Masters
level module on strategic management and enterprise engineering.
In addition, she runs a range of industry linked final year
projects, some with global design elements. In the past three
years she has led the development of a new multi-disciplinary
undergraduate programme in Product Design at Leeds. The
programme draws together subject matter from the Civil,
Electronic & Electrical and Mechanical engineering disciplines,
materials science, psychology, business and the visual arts led
design community; this is integrated through design studio
modules where students carry out design projects and develop
design skills.
