The International
Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German,
French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.
IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their
engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they
then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin
America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner
universities |
Christian
Schäfer is Head of the North America Section of the German
Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). He studied Biology at the
University of Frankfurt and obtained a PhD from the Technical
University Darmstadt in 1987. Following a postdoctoral research
stay in Stanford, he headed a research group at the University
of Bayreuth until 1998. Before joining the DAAD in 2001 Dr.
Schäfer had worked for the "Jugend forscht" young researchers
competition in Hamburg.
