As president and CEO of Siemens Corporate Research, Mr. Camuti oversees the company's U.S. research division, which is developing new innovations in medical imaging, intelligent decision support, security and safety, maintenance and service, industrial automation, multimedia networks, e-business, user-centered software and other areas of primary focus to Siemens' businesses.

Camuti also is responsible for Siemens Technology-To-Business Center, a Berkeley-based subsidiary that gives Siemens access to emerging technologies that can be quickly developed into new products and businesses. The organization partners with universities, entrepreneurs and students to develop next generation technologies that can form stand alone companies, become a new Siemens business or be integrated into existing Siemens businesses.

Prior to joining Siemens Corporate Research, Camuti held a variety of operational and high level R&D, sales, marketing and industry planning positions with Siemens Energy & Automation (SE&A). Most recently, he was vice president of the Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry Business in Spring House, PA and general manager of the Process Automation Systems business with responsibility for product strategies, R&D, support and global distribution. An example of Camuti's approach to strategic R&D was his development of SE&A's Industrial Software business, which developed a suite of applications that enabled Automation & Drives (A&D) to strengthen its coverage of the market for manufacturing automation systems.

Camuti began his career at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he also held senior management positions in the areas of industrial automation, building automation and factory automation systems. Camuti earned a Bachelor's degree in science from Lehigh University.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
