John Ellwood is currently studying Mechanical Engineering and German at the University of Rhode Island. Last year he was in Germany, spending one semester studying at the Technische Universität Braunschweig and the following six months completing an internship at ZF AG. After his second internship with ZF, he was chosen to be ZF student ambassador at his university. Following his graduation in May, he is planning on studying Mandarin at Hangzhou University.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
