Rebecca Hovey, SIT/World LearningRebecca Hovey, Dean of SIT Study Abroad since 2001, provides the academic and administrative direction for SIT Study Abroad programs serving over 1500 students per year in over 40 nations. She served previously as Director of Latin American and Caribbean Studies at SIT. Dr. Hovey received her Ph.D. from Cornell University in the field of City and Regional Planning with an emphasis on International Studies in Planning. Her current academic work examines U.S. Higher Education and key issues of internationalization of the curriculum, global citizenship and critical pedagogy.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
