Sean Gilbert
 

Sean L.E. Gilbert

Manager, MISTI-Dept. of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Initiative

Arrived at MIT in July 2000 after working in Taipei for EcoTrends International Co., Ltd, which specializes in environmental applications at construction sites (1997-2000); and for Honolulu-based Kaimana Pacific Corporation, which managed Taiwanese-owned Hawaii hotels and automotive and data processing joint ventures in Jinan, Shandong Province (1993-1997). Sean has also worked in New York as a reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter & Company, placing East Asian and European facultative business. Received a BA in East Asian Studies from New York University and an MA in Chinese Studies from Princeton University. Currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Greater China Business Council of New England. Back to Who | 2008 Home

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
