Juergen Hesselbach
 

Juergen Hesselbach

President Jürgen Hesselbach has been a professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig since 1990 as well as Director and Head of the Institute for Machine Tools and Assembly Technology. He was appointed President in December 2004. Dr. Hesselbach holds an honorary doctoral degree from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania, is honorary professor at the University for Air and Space Technology in Beijing and is Professor at the Chinesisch-Deutschen Hochschulkolleg of Tongji-University in Shanghai, where he has been offering courses for the last several years. President Hesselbach is married and has four children.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
