Mark F. Lamps

Mark F. Lamps, General Manager of McLean Cooling Technologies at Pentair in Champlin, Minnesota, recently returned to the United States after leading Pentair’s Technical Products Group in Asia for the past 4 years as VP and General Manager. Mark and his family resided in Qingdao, China. Mark has traveled extensively throughout APAC and recently had the opportunity to host one of URI’s first Chinese IEP students in the Pentair factory in Qingdao. A graduate of both Stanford (MSMSE, BSME) and Northwestern (MBA), Mark has been with Pentair for 13 years in a number of leadership roles in different divisions. Prior to Pentair he worked for both Andersen and Deloitte and Touche Consulting, and GM.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
