Andrew Marchesseault is a recent doctoral graduate from the Technische Universität Braunschweig (TU-BS) in Braunschweig, Germany. He attended the University of Rhode Island from 2000 to 2005, completing his Bachelor of Arts in German and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering as part of the IEP program. During that time he completed a six month internship at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Germany.

He continued on to receive his Dual Master/Diplom from URI and TU-BS in 2007 as part of a Partnership for International Research and Education (PIRE) grant from NSF. He was then offered a doctoral research position at the Institute for Microtechnology at TU-BS, which he completed in July, 2012. His research interests include energy conversion, storage and sensing for the development of the intelligent electrical grid and transportation applications.
