Q14:  Will I be able to intern with a company in France?

Yes, if you stay with the program and maintain a good grade average, you will be able to do your six-month internship with an engineering firm in France such as Dassault, GEC-Alsthom, Matra, Thomson, Generale des Eaux, or a French subsidiary of one of our many partner companies. The IEP has an excellent advising program, and you will be in contact with faculty on a regular basis to determine what company and what internship makes sense for you. The internship typically takes place in the fourth year, and is always with a company associated with your engineering discipline.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
