German IEP Curriculum

Back | Next

The following programs of study list the courses taken typically by students in the International Engineering Program.  These should be understood as SUGGESTED course sequences, which often vary in actual practice, depending upon individual needs and the advice of advisors.

It should also be noted that most students in the German IEP are now spending the entire fourth year of study in Germany.  The fall semester is spent studying engineering courses at URI's partner university, the
Technische Universität Braunschweig, and the spring and summer are then spent completing internships with German companies.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
