Q17:  What about studying abroad?

Though it is not required, most German IEP students spend a semester in the fourth year at our partner university, the Technische Universität Braunschweig, before beginning the six-month internship. In Braunschweig IEP students study German and engineering, thus getting good exposure to the way engineering is taught in Germany before experiencing engineering in the German workplace.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
