Q3:  Who can participate?

Though the initial focus of the exchange was on engineering and business students, the TU Braunschweig is a comprehensive university offering coursework in many fields. Each year, 15-20 URI students go to Braunschweig for one or two semesters. The majority are engineering majors, but the group always includes students in business, the humanities, and social sciences.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
