The IEP House is the program's own residential and administrative center, located just past URI's main entrance at 67 Upper College Road. In operation since 1998, the IEP House is a former fraternity building which houses the IEP offices and approximately 40 IEP students. Even though all IEP students do not live here, everyone associated with the program knows the IEP House as home. With ample meeting space, the IEP House is a hub for both scheduled and unscheduled IEP events. And, with three meals served each day by Chef Mark Schoenweiss, the IEP House is also a center for good eating and socializing. This section of our Web site will give you an overview of the IEP House, its purpose, its history, its activities and its origin.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
