Summer Immersion Opportunities at Partner Universities
For IEP students looking to enhance their language proficiency sooner rather than later, or for those ambitious IEPers who know trilingualism is really the way to go, these quality summer programs offer inexpensive ways to boost your language level. Some are taught right here in Kingston, while others are held at our partner universities abroad.
Join the German Summer School (Deutsche Sommerschule am Atlantik) at URI this year. Live, eat, and speak German 24 hours/day. Earn 8 URI credits and advance by one year. It is rewarding, it is fun, and it is great preparation for Germany! Scholarships are available.
For students of German to explore future internship opportunities and immerse themselves in German culture all at once.
This eight-week program offers intensive Chinese language instruction at three different levels and offers a host of extra-curricular activities. Instructors and students live together in a learning community. After one month at URI, the group travels to Hangzhou, China to continue their language and culture study for another month at Zhejiang University.
