Nicole Benoit, a Chemical engineering major, is our first French IEP intern. She is currently working for St. Gobain in a plant outside of Avignon in the south of France. As part of the internship, she has signed up for a three credit French course, FRN 315. Her work for the course consists of writing a weekly report on her work and her life in France. So far, we have received three of her reports. I think it would be very interesting to you to read about what she has been doing as an engineer and how she is adapting to French life. You will see that she is having the experience of a lifetime!

Nicole Benoit's reports can be accessed by selecting a report number above.  On the right, you can switch to other internship reports in the same language or return to the main internship reports page to select another language or year.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
