Director, Spanish International Engineering Program Associate Professor, Spanish and Film MediaDr. Echevarría has a BA in International Studies, and an MA and PhD in Spanish Literature. She joined URI's faculty in 2004 and has directed the Spanish International Engineering Program (SIEP) since May 2008. She also collaborates with the College of Business Administration in the development of a similar Spanish International Business Program. Her teaching at URI has included courses at all levels of the Spanish undergraduate and graduate curricula, as well as courses in Film Media. She also has teaching experience in the areas of Education, International Studies, and Languages Across the Curriculum. Dr. Echevarría has taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Navarra (Spain), the University of Miami (Florida) and the University of Richmond (Virginia). While in her research Dr. Echevarría demonstrates the same versatility that characterizes her teaching, her scholarship to date focuses primarily on the general areas of foreign language pedagogy and contemporary Spanish narrative.
