URI (IEP)-Braunschweig Exchange Program Awarded Edu.de Cooperation Prize

At a special ceremony held in Philadelphia May 31, 2001, the IEP was
awarded the Edu.de Cooperation Prize in the amount of $20,000 by the
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Based on a national
competition, the DAAD sought creative examples of academic exchange
between German and U.S. universities. The URI program with Braunschweig,
which has exchanged over 180 students in the last five years and
developed a model for the exchange of engineering students, was chosen
as one of three recipients for this prestigious prize. The funds will be
contributed to the IEP Scholarship Fund. |
