What's Where?

Back | Next

Given the dire need for global engineers, this portion of our NRC Web site is devoted to identifying other Web information pertinent to the topic. What schools other than the University of Rhode Island have internationalized their engineering curricula? What organizations are interested in the topic? What funding sources might there be to support this effort? We hope that a centralized listing of such information will be useful in helping other higher education institutions to move forward in related ways. Since these lists are "under construction," we would be grateful to receive information about any programs not included here.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
