Q12:  Do I need a background in Spanish?

No, although a solid background in the language (3 or 4 years of high school Spanish or the equivalent) will offer you greater flexibility in your program of studies, allowing you to take advantage of other program options like the Portuguese language component or student exchanges.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
