Q13:  How are the Spanish Courses for engineers different from other language courses?

The IEP offers specialized Spanish language courses for engineering students that focus on the use and application of the language in technical areas, and are specially designed to prepare the student for the internship abroad. Some of the courses you will be taking in literature and culture are the same as those taken by regular Spanish majors.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
