Back | Next

January 3 - 16, 2000

Supported by the German Academic Exchange Service and the Van Meeteren Foundation

As in past years, the IEP sponsored a two-week study tour to Germany with visits to several of our partner companies and the Technische Universität Braunschweig.  The trip took place during the interim period between semesters.

The group of approximately 25 German IEP students and two faculty members visited companies such as Hilti, Aventis, TRW, Volkswagen, Züblin, Lufthansa Technik, ZF and DaimlerChrysler.  Cities visited included Hamburg, Braunschweig, Munich, and Stuttgart.

The International Engineering Program is a dual-degree program combining a B.A. in German, French and/or Spanish with a B.S. in one of the engineering disciplines.  IEP students study language and culture each semester along with their engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program, they then go abroad as interns with engineering based firms in Europe or Latin America, and also as exchange students with one of our partner universities
