For IEP students looking to enhance their language proficiency sooner rather than later, or for those ambitious IEPers who know trilingualism is really the way to go, the following quality summer programs offer inexpensive ways to boost your language level. Some are taught right here in Kingston, while others are held at our partner universities abroad.
CHINESE
Where: University of Rhode Island (Kingston, RI) & Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China)

Earn 8 credits in 8 weeks in the 3rd Annual URI Chinese Summer School! Invest in your future. Immerse yourself in Mandarin Chinese. This intensive Chinese immersion program will be conducted for four weeks at URI and four weeks at Zhejiang University in China. No Chinese experience is necessary. Beginning and intermediate intensive courses will be offered. One need not be a URI student to participate, so let your friends and family know about this great opportunity.

FRENCH
Where: Université de Technologie de Compiègne (Compiègne, France)
When: August 2011
The Université de Technologie de Compiègne offers a French language immersion program during August. The program is tuition free for anyone affiliated with the International Engineering Program. The four-week session begins in early August. Participants are placed into one of the four language levels and classes run from 9 am to 4 pm five days a week. UTC also organizes some weekend trips during the class.
